Because whether you want to make a web page or website or you want to create a blog just to have a place to share your ideas, knowledge and interests, and whether they want to do with-profit or not; There are a number of factors to consider when embarking on the task.

The advice I'll give you today in this regard are specified level; ie they are not across the board (as may well do so at other times). The series of recommendations that will give you in the next few lines refer to something known as web functionality (or as some call "usability").

The purpose of this post is not to criticize other webmasters how to conduct their websites, nor is it intended to be a call to limit the creativity (missing more). Only it involves giving a small guide for people who do not know certain basic principles (however logical it may be).

I find it disturbing as can be seen today many web sites that have gross errors as far as web functionality is concerned, because that decrease the chances of their success.

Now, maybe at this point of the article and you are wondering at what is called "Web Functionality"? Well, you could say (in simple terms) than are the attributes which make our websites and their contents are most friendly and efficient with our visitors, which therefore will be more appreciated by them and therefore our visits also They will be positively affected thereby.

Tips To Improve the Functionality of the Website

Tips To Improve the Functionality of the Website

The tips are as follows:

1. The colors of the funding sources and the site should constrastar pleasantly sight

By choosing the colors of the sources (or letter used) and the bottom, well we can select the ones we like or agree depending on the circumstances, but we must be aware that not going to diminish or go against capacity visitors to read our content.

I explain; How many times has happened to you that you get to a website where the view is you get tired quickly and almost immediately run away from it because the colors of the letters and the funds are too (to put it in some way) strident or shrill ?

Happens for example in the case of web sites with black backgrounds and yellow letters. Initially it may seem a good idea to do it that way, but it is proven that this combination can quickly tire the sight of our potential visitors.

It can also be the case with black backgrounds websites and semi-dark letters that little or nothing and are distinguished enormously difficult to read the contents. Or sites with white background and light letters (same story).

Examples of good color combinations on web sites is the black or white background and blue letters. Or conversely, black background and white letters. The just mentioned are just two examples of good combinations but are not nearly unique; it is important that you consider adequate contrast to define the colors emplearás on your sites.

2. Choose the right size and type of source

Select the appropriate size and typeface we will use is critical to the success of our websites. Too small print hinder our visitors to read our content adequately or comfortably. On the other hand, a letter can seem too big and too long our content and discourage potential readers.

The font or font also affects the web functionality on the fact that if the typeface we use is too unintelligible (which can not be understood by arabesques or shape) negatively impact the reading of the contents of the site . Given the above, always make sure to choose font types that allow easy reading of its contents.

3. Beware of Emphasis

Try as far as possible not to underline text on their websites. If you need to highlight words, phrases or specific fragments of text, grasp the font size, the color, type or just use bold or italic.

What is this about? Simply the fact that on the Internet, user-level underlined often seen as something used to define links or links, that is, most people who surf the Internet are accustomed to see underlined text as links and why you may get confused visitors to our websites into thinking they can click on something that really is not a link. Worse while stressing happens when he gets the same default color of the links (usually light blue), so be very careful with this.

4- Do not recharge Advertising your site

Putting advertising on your site as a means to monetize usually very good. The Internet has thousands of systems and companies to place advertising on our websites and thereby earn money by visits we get.

However, we must be especially careful not to place excessive advertising on our websites; first because it can be disturbing for visitors to have too many things that divert attention from the main contents; and secondly because they can disturb the site navigation (or visitor interaction with the interface of our website). So be very careful with this. Again, put advertising is fine, but be careful not excessive and does not disturb the site navigation.

5- Beware the size of the images

When developing a website (call page, portal or blog) we always see the need to use images. Images are an excellent way to give elegance and presence to our content. However, we must be careful about the size of the images and the format we use.

Usually more formats used in web sites are JPG, GIF and PNG. GIF formats are usually very light to have a limited color palette; with JPG must always use a good program or software to help us lighten or compress the file size.

Should not we use or extension BMP format image files from our websites since it is often too heavy.

Why such insistence is due to the size of the files?

Simply the fact that if the images that are contained in your website are too heavy, too slow the loading of the same, therefore the visitor is tired and could go to the website of someone else without ever seeing any of our content.

6- Doctor writing and spelling

As much as you know about a topic or issue, it will be advisable to always take special care in creating and writing its contents, since failure to do so will risk your website (and their contents) are despised by something as simple as misspellings.

It may seem trivial matter, but it is not; do not talk simply of the fact that educated people could belittle its contents by realizing spelling faults present on their sites, but also the fact that its contents may be incomprehensible if not careful with it.

7- Doing endless paragraphs

As far as possible try to write paragraphs 4 or 5 lines (as stop). In the most extreme cases, try to paragraphs not exceed 7 lines; as more tired and that alienates the reader. A paragraph can backfire too long to read.

8. Do not make items or too long nor too short

At the midpoint is virtue. If you are very short articles, then you are probably not developing adequately its contents; and if it creates very long, then you may be discouraged from the outset many potential readers. Because even though your website reach people interested in the topic that is, reading can become very heavy when you feel very extensive from the outset.

A recommendation regarding issues that can not be developed in short articles (being really too long) is to divide the article into several parts. I mean, if the item is too long (because the theme given for it) then separate it into several parts and matter settled, look like will be greater receptivity on the part of visitors as well do it.
